Elan Organic Coffees Celebrates Biodiversity and
Sustainable Agriculture From Tree to Cup...
On Monday
May 7th Elan Organic Coffees will bring together
consumers, roasters, brokers and producers from around
the world for two funfilled days of learning,
recognition and of course-great coffee.
Participating in the two-day event will be
representatives from the coffee communities of a number
of nations including Australia, Bolivia, Costa Rica,
Ethiopia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Peru
and the United States.
The trip begins on May 7th at Noon with a bus trip from
the SCAA convention in Long Beach to the world famous
San Diego Zoo. Guests will be treated to a private,
multi-lingual tour of the zoo, followed by an awards
ceremony and a discussion with the zoo's Agricultural
Engineer and members of the horticulture staff. A key
element of this discussion with center on ECO-Q
TM-Elan Code of Quality.

sourcing high quality, cause-related coffees from around

Day 1 will culminate with a spectacular Paella Party
with Flamenco Dancers at the zoo, followed by a night
cap at the Sunset Cliffs Inn overlooking the beautiful
Pacific Ocean. Day 2 will begin bright and early with
tours of some of San Diego's best specialty coffee
roasters including Cafe Moto, Java Jones and Blue Bridge
Coffee Roasters. Guests will lunch at the oldest and
most famous coffee shop in downtown San Diego, Hessian
Pannikin.
